New Delhi, Apr 12 (PTI) National Commission for Women (NCW) chief Vijaya Rahatkar on Sunday paid a heartfelt tribute to legendary singer Asha Bhosle, saying her demise has left the world of music in silence.
In a post on X, Rahatkar said that for decades, Bhosle’s voice touched millions of hearts and gifted countless memorable songs across generations.
Describing her voice as more than just music, the NCW chief said it reflected “an ocean of emotions, energy, and a celebration of life.” “From ‘Rasiya O Rasiya’ and ‘Dum Mast Kalandar’ to ‘Yeh Kya Hua’, ‘Jo Wada Kiya’ and innumerable classics, her legendary voice resonated with generations, and though she is no longer among us, it will forever echo in our hearts, leaving the world of music in silence,”
she said.
Bhosle, 92, died in Mumbai on Sunday, a day after she was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital due to a chest infection and exhaustion. PTI KSH SMV SMV SHS SHS
