Chennai, Jun 21 (PTI) Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar on Sunday stressed the importance of learning multiple Indian languages, stating that each serves as a powerful bridge connecting people across regions.
Presiding over the Telangana and West Bengal Statehood Day celebrations at Lok Bhavan, he encouraged citizens, particularly the youth, to embrace linguistic diversity to enhance cultural understanding, foster national integration and expand opportunities.
A Lok Bhavan release said the governor observed that respect for linguistic diversity deepens national unity and builds stronger interpersonal connections across states, contributing meaningfully to the vision of a united and progressive India.
Highlighting that Tamil Nadu,
with its strong legacy of inclusive development, industrial excellence and cultural richness, plays a pivotal role in shaping India’s developmental trajectory, he called upon all stakeholders to work collectively towards strengthening Tamil Nadu’s progress, which in turn would accelerate the realisation of a developed and self-reliant India.
