22-year-old Sameer Rizvi entered his name in the record books on Saturday, April 4, by registering the second highest score in IPL history by an uncapped batter against Mumbai Indians. In match No. 8 of IPL 2026, which was played between DC and MI at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Saturday, Rizvi scored 90 runs from just 51 balls for the Delhi-based franchise in the 163-run chase.
So far, only one uncapped batter – Yashasvi Jaiswal – has managed to score a century against MI. The left-handed batter scored 124 runs from 62 balls for Rajasthan Royals against MI at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 30, 2023. Jaiswal, who has played in all three formats of the game for India now, was an uncapped player back then. He made his India debut against the West
Indies in July 2023.

The knock of 90 runs by Sameer Rizvi on Saturday also helped him take the No. 3 position in the list of DC batters with the most runs against MI in an IPL match. The record of the highest score for DC in an IPL match against MI is in the name of Virender Sehwag. Sehwag played an unbeaten knock of 95 runs from 57 balls against Mumbai Indians in Delhi on April 21, 2013.
He is followed by England’s Jason Roy, who scored 91 runs from just 53 balls at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 14, 2018.
