A simple signboard inside a Bengaluru mall has sparked a wave of appreciation online. A dedicated pink parking space reserved exclusively for expectant mothers is now drawing attention for putting thought into something most people overlook – how stressful mall parking can be, especially for pregnant women.
The initiative came into the spotlight after a Bengaluru-based man shared a short video from the mall’s basement parking area, calling it a small but meaningful step toward inclusivity.
A parking spot that stands out
The video was posted by an Instagram user, who noticed the clearly marked space while navigating the mall’s parking lot. The spot features a light pink theme and a visible sign that reads, “Reserved for mothers to be.” In an environment
often filled with tight turns, poor lighting and confusion, the colour and signage make the space hard to miss.
Speaking in the video, user praised the idea, calling it thoughtful and practical. “Very nice concept and I loved it,” he said, pointing out how such gestures can make a real difference to people who need extra care and comfort.

‘Gone beyond traditional amenities’
In the caption accompanying the post, user applauded the mall management for thinking beyond basic facilities. He specifically mentioned Nexus Mall, writing, “Hats off to nexusmall in Bengaluru where they have kept seperate space for Women especially Mothers to be. All other malls in India should implement the same.”
His post struck a chord, quickly gaining traction for highlighting something rarely talked about in public infrastructure design. For many viewers, the gesture felt overdue rather than extraordinary.
Social media reacts
The comments section soon filled with positive reactions. One user wrote, “It’s veryyyyy very helpful,” echoing what many expectant mothers likely felt seeing the video. Another user pointed out that similar parking spots already exist in several malls across the country, suggesting the idea is slowly becoming more common.
Others praised the visibility of the space, noting that clear markings reduce the stress of searching for parking, especially during peak hours. Several users tagged friends and family, calling it a “green flag” for mall management.
While reserved parking spaces are often associated with senior citizens or people with disabilities, the introduction of designated spots for mothers-to-be reflects a growing awareness of everyday challenges faced by pregnant women.
