'I Have Faith In The Youth Of My Country': PM Modi Says Gen Z Will Help Turn India’s Dreams Into Reality

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday placed India’s youth at the centre of the country’s journey towards a ‘Viksit Bharat’, saying he has faith in the younger generation to help turn the nation’s dreams into reality.

Addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, PM Modi spoke about the role of the youth while also stressing the need to accelerate the pace of reforms.

“I have faith in the youth of my country, the mothers and sisters of my country, the farmers of my country, and the workers of my country that we can make this dream a reality,” PM Modi said.

His remarks came as this year’s Independence

Day celebrations highlighted the role of ‘Yuva Shakti’ in India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047.

The Prime Minister’s address marked his 13th consecutive Independence Day speech from the Red Fort.

‘I Have Faith In The Youth Of My Country’

Speaking about the country’s aspirations, PM Modi expressed confidence in different sections of society, with the youth among those he specifically placed his faith in.

“I have faith in the youth of my country,” he said, adding that he also had faith in the mothers and sisters, farmers and workers of the country to make the dream of a developed India a reality.

The Prime Minister then linked this confidence with the need for faster reforms.

“And therefore, we also need to accelerate the pace of reforms. And when I talk about reforms,” PM Modi said.

Youth At Centre Of Viksit Bharat Vision

The 80th Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort were centred on the theme of ‘Yuva Shakti’ and the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

The celebrations also marked 150 years of the National Song, ‘Vande Mataram’.

For the first time, ‘Vande Mataram’ was rendered during the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort.

Following the flag hoisting, the Army band played the song, which was sung by everyone present at the venue, followed by the National Anthem.

The celebrations also featured a large participation of young people.

A total of 2,500 boy and girl cadets from the Army, Navy and Air Force, along with ‘My Bharat’ volunteers, participated in the celebrations. They were seated on Gyanpath and formed the words ‘Vande Mataram’.

PM Modi’s Message On India’s Future

The Prime Minister had earlier greeted the nation on Independence Day and paid tribute to the freedom fighters who fought against colonial rule.

In a post on X, he said their dreams continue to inspire the country as it works towards building a ‘Viksit Bharat’.

“Powered by 140 crore Indians, our nation is scaling new heights of progress across different sectors. May this journey keep progressing at an even greater pace in the times to come,” PM Modi said.

Around 5,000 special guests from different walks of life were invited to the Independence Day celebrations, including youth innovators, scientists, start-up founders, students, women entrepreneurs, farmers, sanitation workers, street vendors and artisans.
