Rajkumar Hirani’s Son Vir Hirani And Rasha Thadani In Romantic Film Lagan Laagi Re, Shoot Begins In July?

Rajkumar Hirani’s son Vir Hirani is all set to make his Bollywood debut, and the project is already creating buzz. According to recent reports, Raveena Tandon’s daughter Rasha Thadani has been finalised as the female lead opposite him in a romantic drama tentatively titled Lagan Laagi Re.

Variety India has reported that Vir Hirani is all set to make his big-screen debut with Raveena Tandon’s daughter Rasha Thadani. The film, tentatively titled Lagan Laagi Re, is being produced by Jay Shewakramani under his Northern Lights Films banner. It is directed by Sonali Rattan Deshmukh and its shoot will begin in July 2026.

Reportedly, Lagan Laagi Re is a small-town love story set in today’s times. The director, Sonali Rattan Deshmukh, has earlier assisted

her husband, Kunal Deshmukh on popular romantic films like Jannat, Tum Mile, and Shiddat.

Meanwhile, Vir is scheduled to make his acting debut with the JioHotstar drama Pritam Pedro, which also marks the OTT debut of his father, Rajkumar Hirani, who serves as showrunner, creative director, and bankrolls it. The online series was completed in 2025 and is scheduled to air this year.

The cybercrime thriller also stars Arshad Warsi in a prominent role, as the drama follows the unexpected partnership of a seasoned cop (Arshad) and a tech-savvy investigator with skill in digital tools (Vir), who solve cybercrimes in unique methods. It also stars Boman Irani and Mona Singh in prominent roles.

Moreover, the report mentioned that Vir Hirani has already received recognition in the theatre circuit for his performance in the play Letters of Suresh, which is based on the text of American writer Rajiv Joseph and directed by Feroz Abbas Khan.

Rasha Thadani’s work front

Rasha Thadani will be next seen in Laikey Laikaa with Abhay Verma. The film, directed by Saurabh Gupta, is set for a Summer 2026 release. The shoot took place at multiple locations, including Vijay Ghat, IG Colony, Lodhi Road and Connaught Place, according to a report by HT City. A source told the publication that the sequence was a romantic song featuring the two leads. The photos give fans a glimpse of her and co-star Abhay Verma during the promotional song shoot in Delhi. The images suggest that the movie will likely feature youthful romance and lively sequences. Laikey Laikaa’, produced by Phantom Studios, is likely to be a romantic actioner. In June, Thadani shared a video announcing the new project with Verma, in which the duo could be seen hinting at the movie’s theme. “She’s the chaos. He’s the calm. Or is it the other way around?
