In a bizarre incident from Russia, a man has reportedly purchased a woman’s ‘soul’ for a staggering Rs 35 Crore. The unusual deal, which involved a contract signed in blood, has sparked shock and debate across social media and local media outlets.
According to the Daily Star, the buyer, identified as Dmitri, had jokingly posted on the Russian social networking platform Vkontakte that he wanted to buy someone’s soul. While many dismissed it as a prank, a woman named Karina unexpectedly accepted the offer.
Reports state that Karina earned $4 million (Rs 35 Crore) from the exchange. The two went ahead with a contract, written and signed in blood, making the bizarre transaction official. Soon after, Dmitri shared a photo of the blood-stained contract on social
media, writing: “I just bought my first soul. This contract was signed in blood. I feel like Davy Jones.”
Karina, however, showed no regrets. Speaking to local media, she said she was not bothered by others’ opinions and was happy with her decision. She confirmed that the money was directly deposited into her account, which she used to purchase a collection of Labubu dolls and tickets to a concert by popular Russian singer Nadezhda Kadysheva.
Dmitri himself now admits he doesn’t know what to do with the “soul” he has bought. He confessed that the offer was made as a joke, and he never expected anyone to take it seriously.
The strange case has divided opinion online. While some social media users called it a “satanic tendency” straight out of a horror film, others dismissed it as nothing more than a publicity stunt.
