Ahaan Panday To Play Gangster In Ali Abbas Zafar’s Next? Deets Inside

After making a strong debut with Saiyaara, Ahaan Panday is all set to star in Ali Abbas Zafar’s next, where he will feature in an entirely different role. Ahaan, who played a lover boy in Saiyaara, will take on a gangster avatar in his next, as per reports. This will be a surprise for fans to see Ahaan in this never-seen-before avatar.

As per Variety India, Ahaan has undergone intense training to portray this raw character, and apart from the actor, Jimmy Shergill has also come on board and will be playing a pivotal role. This will mark Jimmy Shergill’s collaboration with YRF after nearly two decades.

The report further stated that the shooting of the film kicked off on April 3 in Mumbai, and the makers are planning to move to London for the next

schedule of the film, with the aim to wrap the movie by early 2027.

The director shared, in a statement, that he loves Ahaan’s ‘sincerity’ and feels that he brings ‘old-school’ honesty to his performance. He said, “What I love about Ahaan is his sincerity. In today’s time, when everything can feel performative and an act, he brings a kind of old-school honesty to his performances, like the romantic heroes we have grown up watching and loving. The camera picks up on that. You can’t act vulnerable on screen, it doesn’t land, and he isn’t afraid to be vulnerable, which is incredible.”

Ali believes that the audience resonated with Ahaan because he isn’t trying to impress them. He added, “He’s simply present in the moment. There’s a softness to him but also strength. That balance is what makes people root for him, especially in love stories. I genuinely believe he has the potential to become one of those rare romantic heroes who make you feel something long after the film ends.”
