Gurugram, Aug 27 (PTI) Two men have been arrested in connection with the murder of a 27-year-old supervisor of a telecom logistics company in the Farrukhnagar area here, police said on Thursday.
The accused, identified as Aamir (19), a native of Darbhanga in Bihar, and Anoop (19) of Gohana in Haryana, were arrested from Farrukhnagar on Wednesday, they said.
Police received information on August 23 that the body of a man was lying in a vacant plot in a colony in Farrukhnagar. A team reached the spot and found the man dead with injuries on his head, neck and other parts of the body.
Around the same time, a man approached the Farrukhnagar police station to report his nephew Vikas Mishra missing. He identified the body as that of Mishra, a resident
of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.
According to the complaint, Mishra worked as a supervisor at a telecom logistics company in Farrukhnagar. His uncle came to the area after being informed that Mishra’s phone was switched off and that he had not reported for work.
A case was registered under relevant sections on the complaint, police said.
Police said another accused Ajay, along with Aamir and Anoop, allegedly called Mishra to a vacant plot in Kachhi Colony on the night of August 23 following a dispute and assaulted him with bricks, a knife and an awl as part of a pre-planned conspiracy.
The injuries led to Mishra’s death, the police said.
“Both the arrested accused work as labourers,” a Gurugram police spokesperson said.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that Ajay allegedly planned the murder and involved his two associates, the spokesperson said.
Ajay has already been arrested in another case involving possession of an illegal weapon and sent to jail. He will be taken on a production warrant and questioned about the motive behind the murder, the police said. PTI COR SMV PRK
