‘If Misinformation Paid Bills...’: Prateik Babbar Shares Cryptic Note Following Half-Brother Arya Babbar’s Claims

Actor Prateik Babbar and his father Raj Babbar have been in a troubled relationship for quite some time. Following Prateik’s marriage with Priya Banerjee for the second time, the absence of Raj Babbar sparked discussions. Now, Prateik Babbar’s cryptic note following half-brother Arya Babbar’s accusation of exploiting their father for financial benefits has raised eyebrows.

Prateik Babbar took to his Instagram and re-shared a cryptic note that his wife Priya Banerjee shared. The note read, “If misinformation paid bills, some people would finally be successful,” and along with it, Prateik added the hashtag #IYKYK. Although the two did not name anyone, it looked like a hit at Arya’s claims.

to Vickey Lalwani, Arya shared how his family had tried to nurture their relationship with Prateik, but he has always villainised Raj Babbar’s entire family.

Arya further shared, “It’s like when your career is not doing well, and you need pocket money from dad to survive, then he is your father. When you want to live in the house that your father bought for Smita maa, then he is your father. When you want all the benefits, then he is your father. But when you have to acknowledge him and give him respect in front of society, then he is not your father. What is that? As an elder brother, I love him, but when he is wrong, he is wrong, and this is where he is wrong.”

Arya further added, “It is so tragic that the Smita maa, for whom my father left his family, today that Smita maa’s son is not ready to acknowledge him as his father. What could be a bigger tragedy than that?” “As an elder brother, I will be here for him, but if I am asked if I can embrace and love him the same way, then maybe not,” he said.

About Raj Babbar’s family dynamics

For the unversed, Raj Babbar married Nadira Babbar in 1975, and they later became parents to two children,  Arya Babbar and Juhi Babbar. However, Raj fell in love with Smita Patil while he was already married to Nadira. He reportedly got divorced from Nadira in 1982 and tied the knot with Smita a year later. Raj and Smita welcomed Prateik in 1986, but Smita passed away due to complications during childbirth. After her death, Raj got back together with Nadira.
