India Post has commenced the application process for the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Recruitment 2025. A total of 28,740 posts, including Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Dak Sevak roles will be filled across various offices through the recruitment drive. Eligible candidates can submit their applications on the official India Post website at indiapostgdsonline.gov.in starting today, January 31.
The last date to apply is February 14. A correction window will be available from February 18 to 19 for candidates to make any necessary changes to their applications.
Candidates will be selected based on their class 10th marks, with the scores converted into a percentage with four decimal places. The first merit list will be issued
on February 28.
India Post GDS Recruitment 2026: Who Can Apply?
Educational Qualification: To apply for the GDS positions, candidates must have completed the 10th standard (Secondary School Examination) from a recognized board, with passing marks in Mathematics and English.
Age Limit: The age limit for applicants is between 18 and 40 years. The highest vacancies have been reported in West Bengal, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Kerala.

The application fee is Rs 100 for all categories. However, female candidates, SC/ST applicants, PwD candidates, and transwomen are exempt from the fee. Applicants from other categories can pay via credit/debit cards, net banking, or UPI.

India Post GDS Recruitment 2026: Salary Details
Selected candidates will receive a Time-Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA), with annual increments of 3%, based on the conditions outlined in the GDS Rules. BPM (Postmaster) will receive between Rs 12,000 to Rs 29,380 and ABPM/Dak Sevak will get between Rs 10,000 to Rs 24,470.
