Sunrisers Hyderabad produced some brilliant bit of fielding to take an early advantage in their defence of 235 runs against table-topper Punjab Kings at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Wednesday to get rid of the dangerous opening pair of Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya as Pat Cummins and Nitish Kumar Reddy. Shreya Iyer also fell early for 5 runs as Eashan Malinga removed the opposition skipper.

Their effort on the field came in sharp contrast to PBKS, who dropped multiple catches to let SRH batter live charmed lives in their onslaught.
Fielding woes continue for Punjab! 😖

Abhishek blasted 35 off 13 before falling to Lockie Ferguson, bringing Ishan Kishan to the crease alongside Head. Head then scored 38 off 19 before being dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal, with Marco Jansen taking the catch in the deep.
Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen pushed SRH past 100 in the 8th over, with Kishan regularly finding the boundary to reach his half-century and take the total beyond 150 by the 14th over. Punjab’s poor fielding allowed the pair to capitalise, until Arshdeep Singh removed Kishan for 55.
Klaasen then took control, registering another half-century and scoring 69 off 43 deliveries. He was eventually dismissed by Vyshak Vijaykumar, while Nitish Kumar Reddy stayed unbeaten on 29 off 13, guiding SRH to a total of 235.
PBKS’ chase started poorly as openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh were dismissed cheaply for 1 and 3 by Pat Cummins and Nitish Kumar Reddy. Captain Shreyas fell soon after for 5, removed by Eashan Malinga, leaving the visitors in further trouble.
Cooper Connolly steadied the innings with a brilliant half-century while wickets kept tumbling. Marcus Stoinis made a quick 28 off 14 before falling to Shivang Kumar, and Suyash Hedge added 25 off 17 before Cummins claimed his second wicket. Shashank Singh was dismissed by Shakib Hussain for 4 off 3, and Shivangi struck again to remove Marco Jansen for 19 off 16.
Connolly battled on to complete his maiden IPL century, but his lone-ranger effort ended up being only a consolation.
