The Maharashtra government on Thursday transferred funds worth Rs 462 crore to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to promote Metro projects in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), News18 Lokmat reported.
The state government is developing the Metro network in Mumbai and Thane areas to improve public transport system in the MMR and provide comfortable travel to citizens.
Accordingly, about 350 km of Metro lines are being constructed through MMRDA. The projects worth thousands of crores are being built with funds from the central and state governments.

(BMC) elections, the state government has again approved funds worth crores of rupees to speed up the work of some metro lines.
How much money has been given for which Metro project?
The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) is spending about Rs 37,275 crore for the Colaba-Bandra-Seepz Metro line. This line will be open for traffic soon. The state government has given Rs 80 crore to complete the remaining works.
Thane-Kalyan-Bhiwandi Metro: Rs 32.5 crore
Swami Samarth Nagar-Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Metro-6: Rs 50 crore
Dahisar East to DN Nagar Metro: Rs 37.5 crore

Mumbaikars Can Now Book Mumbai Metro Tickets For All Lines Via OneTicket App
In a relief for commuters of Mumbai Metro, they can now book asingle ticket for their entire journey, across multiple metro lines, through the OneTicket application, according to reports.
The OneTicket app was developed by SequelString and supported by Mumbai Metro One. It has now come up with a unified digital solution by integrating with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) for seamless travel on the Mumbai metro, according to a report by The Indian Express.

The enhanced version of the app, which was launched for the Metro-3 line in June 2025, can generate tickets with QR codes that can be scanned at metro gates. This initiative will eliminate the need for multiple transactions, thus enabling convenient travel on the Mumbai metro, which currently spans around 70 km.
Earlier, passengers had to deal with booking separate tickets for different lines operated by multiple agencies. Now, they can book end-to-end journeys through the OneTicket app, which is available on Android and iOS.
