Two women recording a dance reel on a roadside ended up drawing attention online after they were interrupted by a group of older women during the shoot. The incident has once again started conversations around moral policing and how women are often judged for simple public activities.
The clip, shared on Instagram by influencer Mahek Chauhan, shows her dancing with a friend in what appears to be a residential area. Everything seemed normal at first, but midway through the recording, two women approached them and objected to the performance.
The women could be heard saying, “Dekho itne ladke khade hain,” suggesting that the duo should stop dancing because several men were nearby watching.
Women Continue Recording Reel
Despite the interruption, the two
women did not stop their performance. They continued dancing and finished recording the reel while the women stood nearby.
From the video, it appeared that the older women were uncomfortable with the dance being recorded in a public space where men were present. However, many people online later pointed out that the dancers were simply making a social media reel and were not bothering anyone.
The post was shared with the caption, “Worth it? 100 per cent.”

Internet Reacts To Moral Policing
Soon after the clip started circulating online, users began reacting strongly in the comments section. Many supported the dancers and criticised the women for interfering.
A user wrote, “But why were those ladies so bothered? Go girlies.” Another commented, “Aunty is just jealous she can’t dance so well.” “Aunties giving lectures coz they jealous they can’t dance like yall,” another person wrote.
Several users said such incidents happen often whenever women are seen dancing, filming videos or enjoying themselves in public places. A comment read, “Why is it always some random aunty doing moral policing? Aunty low key wants to do and enjoy what you are doing.”
Another person wrote, “I hope our generation doesn’t become like those aunties. I’ll vibe with you if I see you like this someday.”
Some reactions were humorous too. “Ladke khade hai??? Toh baitha do na aunty,” a user joked. Another person praised the dancers for not stopping midway and said, “Thank god you didn’t listen.. killed it and how.”
