Zayn Malik may have sent the internet into a frenzy after making a pointed comment about concert ticket prices during his recent Las Vegas performance. The former One Direction singer appeared to throw
subtle shade at bandmate-turned-global pop superstar Harry Styles, whose upcoming residency ticket prices have been drawing sharp criticism online.
A fan-recorded clip from Malik’s show at Dolby Live at Park MGM on Wednesday, January 28, has been making the rounds on TikTok, with fans dissecting every word of the singer’s onstage banter.
Zayn’s comment that sparked speculation
Addressing the packed venue, Malik thanked fans for choosing to spend their evening with him before sneaking in what many believe was a not-so-innocent jab.
“So I just want to say a big, big thank you to each and every single one of you for being here with me tonight,” the 33-year-old told the crowd. “You could’ve been anywhere, but you decided to spend your night with me.”
He then added with a grin, “Hopefully the ticket prices weren’t too high,” before shrugging and quipping, “Just saying.”
The remark instantly set social media buzzing, with fans interpreting it as a dig aimed squarely at Styles, whose newly announced “Together, Together” residency has been under fire for its eye-watering ticket costs.
Why fans think Harry Styles was the target
According to TMZ, ticket prices for Styles’ Wembley Stadium shows reportedly crossed $640, while premium VIP packages for his New York City dates climbed to a staggering $1,667. The figures triggered outrage among fans, many of whom took to X and other platforms to accuse the singer of excessive pricing.
“Sorry but this is fking bullst and greedy as hell. Can we stop this,” one angry user wrote. “@Harry_Styles I love you but this is actually gross.”
Despite the backlash, demand for Styles’ shows has been overwhelming. TMZ reported that his seven-city global residency shattered presale records, with over 11.5 million fans allegedly attempting to secure tickets for his Madison Square Garden run alone.
Styles, 31, is set to perform 50 shows across seven cities worldwide. His tour kicks off in May with six shows in Amsterdam, followed by a six-night stint in London, where country music icon Shania Twain will join as a special guest.
Over the summer, the “As It Was” singer will play two dates in São Paulo and two in Mexico City. His most ambitious leg includes 30 shows at Madison Square Garden in New York City between August and October—a venue where he previously sold out 15 consecutive shows during his 2022 Love on Tour residency.
The tour will wrap up in Australia, with two concerts in Melbourne in November and two in Sydney in December.
