Budaun (UP), May 16 (PTI) A bull died after falling from a 50-foot-high under-construction water tank in Kisrua village under the Musajhag police station area here on Saturday morning, officials said.
Following the incident, a crowd gathered in the village and allegations of negligence were raised.
According to villagers, the bull somehow managed to climb onto the tank and wandered at the top for nearly an hour before losing balance and falling to the ground, resulting in its death on the spot.
After receiving information, a ‘Dial 112’ police team reached the spot and initiated an investigation.
Om Veer Singh Yadav, a resident of the village, said the construction of the water tank had remained incomplete for the past three years.
He alleged that
the brother of the village pradhan receives a monthly payment of Rs 8,000 in the name of providing security services, yet he fails to report for duty. Due to this lapse, the gate of the water tank was allegedly left open, allowing the bull to wander inside.
District Magistrate Avneesh Kumar Rai said a committee is being formed to investigate the incident.
He said the committee’s report would ascertain why the construction work remained incomplete and whose negligence led to the incident.
Rai said strict action would be taken against those found guilty. PTI COR NAV MDO MDO
