Jarrell Miller left Madison Square Garden with a win on Saturday night — perhaps, you could say he won it by a hair.
The outspoken American heavyweight edged Kingsley Ibeh by split decision on the undercard of Shakur Stevenson’s dominant WBO super-lightweight title win over Teofimo Lopez in New York.
But while the judges’ verdict went Miller’s way, the moment everyone is talking about came courtesy of a punch that knocked his toupee clean off.
Midway through the fight, a shot to the top of Miller’s head dislodged the hairpiece, sending it flying and instantly turning the bout into a viral spectacle.

Unfazed, Miller scooped it up and tossed it into the crowd before getting straight back to work.
The toupee didn’t stay lost for long. Ringside, WBO heavyweight champion Fabio Wardley retrieved it, placed it neatly on an empty chair beside him and posted a video on social media with the caption: “#safekeeping”.

Speaking after the fight, Miller laughed off the incident and offered an explanation that was just as memorable as the moment itself. The 37-year-old claimed he lost his natural hair just days before the bout after using an overly strong shampoo at his mother’s house.
“He slapped that s*** off.”

“I shampooed it, sh*t was like bleach,” Miller told DAZN. “I literally lost my hair like two days ago. So I called my manager and said, ‘Get me one of those manes,’ and we slapped that on real quick. And Ibeh knocked that sh*t off. It’s funny, man. I’m a comedian.”
The win marked Miller’s first since stopping Lucas Browne in March 2023. Since then, his career has stalled through a knockout loss to Daniel Dubois, a draw with Andy Ruiz Jr., and a string of collapsed fights against names including Fabio Wardley, Jared Anderson, Michael Hunter and Derek Chisora.
