Dhurandhar’s hype shows no signs of slowing down, even as new films continue to hit the screens. The wave of appreciation surrounding the film seems unstoppable. After all, how many films in the country manage to earn praise not just from audiences but also from politicians?
A few days ago, Smriti Irani had lauded the film with a detailed note. Now, the actress-turned-politician has once again expressed her admiration by sharing a special Instagram story, this time appreciating the man of the moment, Akshaye Khanna.
Smriti Irani’s Shoutout For Akshaye Khanna
Taking to her Instagram, Smriti Irani revisited one of Akshaye Khanna’s most memorable comic performances by sharing a clip from Tees Maar Khan. The film, known for its over-the-top humour
and hysterical plot, has been making the rounds on social media lately. In the film, Akshaye plays a hilariously dramatic actor obsessively chasing an Oscar.
Sharing a clip from the film where the Dhurandhar actor’s desperation for the coveted award is on full display, the former Union minister added a witty caption to the post. She wrote, “When Akshaye has surpassed all expectations and you too want to yell… de do Oscar!”

A few days ago, Smriti Irani had shared a detailed note praising Dhurandhar and its director, Aditya Dhar as well. In her post, she began by listing several places that have witnessed terror attacks, adding that anyone who has visited these locations or met the families of the victims would understand why Dhurandhar does not provoke outrage at all.
She went on to call Aditya Dhar a “craftsperson par excellence,” lauding his vision. Smriti also praised the film’s cast, especially Akshaye Khanna, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Rampal, for delivering powerful performances. She made a special mention of casting director Mukesh Chhabra, acknowledging the precision behind the film’s casting choices.
Describing Dhurandhar as more than just a film, Smriti wrote that it is “the echo of lives lived and lost.” She further revealed that she has worked with Ajit Doval in the past and added that there could be no better actor than R. Madhavan to portray him on screen.
She concluded her note by paying tribute to those who lost their lives defending the nation, stating that the country holds them in the highest esteem and remains forever indebted to their sacrifice
