Ranveer Singh Has NOT Quit Pralay, Reports Regarding Creative Differences 'Completely Baseless'

Amid reports that Ranveer Singh has quit Pralay, a post-apocalyptic zombie thriller directed by Jai Mehta, it has now been reported that all such allegations are ‘completely baseless’. If a report by Variety India is to be believed, Ranveer and Jai have started working on the project and have finalised the script of the film.

“Ranveer and Jai have been in continuous discussions and have firmly locked the script. The project has already moved into pre-production, with the entire team actively gearing up to create a never-before-witnessed gigantic spectacle out of Indian cinema. As it stands, ‘Pralay’ is on track to go on floors by August 2026,” a source cited by the entertainment portal claimed.

About Pralay

Set in a post-apocalyptic Mumbai, the film will reportedly use AI-driven visuals to depict a crumbling, decayed version of the city. The project will be directed by Jai Mehta, son of filmmaker Hansal Mehta, marking his theatrical directorial debut. Jai previously co-directed Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story and Lootere, and is known for his realistic storytelling style.

The film is being co-produced by Hansal Mehta and Sameer Nair’s Applause Entertainment, adding further weight to what is shaping up to be one of the more unconventional Hindi films in development.

Ranveer Singh Also Quits Don 3

Interestingly, this comes at a time when Ranveer Singh has also been making headlines for quitting Don 3. The actor, who is currently enjoying the success of his Dhurandhar franchise, left the movie last year. The fallout became public amid reports of script disagreements and delays. It was previously reported that Excel was seeking Rs 40 crore in compensation, citing pre-production expenses, scheduling changes and related losses. The production house maintained that groundwork had been completed with Ranveer’s approval.

Recently, Farhan Akhtar also opened up about the fallout and told Hollywood Reporter India, “What I have learnt is to expect the unexpected. Nothing can be taken for granted till you actually have it on film.”
