Vaibhav Sooryanshi collected almost half of the awards in the IPL 2026’s final presentation ceremony after Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured a second consecutive title by beating the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, the 15-year-old looked far from surprised.
Sooryavanshi scored 776 runs in the season with a staggering strike-rate of 237.30. He won the Most Valuable Player of the Year award, the Emerging Player of the Year award, the Superstriker award for the highest strike-rate in the season, the Orange Cap, and the Super Sixes award for the most sixes.

But speaking to Ravi Shastri afterwards, he said he wanted to do ‘even better’ in IPL 2027.
“It’s a proud moment, it feels very good and I will try to do even better next season. I just try to back my game. If I feel on the first ball – if I feel that I can hit this ball – then I go all out. I try to play that way. This season, (I learned) how to play under pressure, how to change your game according to the situation. You can’t play every game in the same mode. You have to read the situation and play according to what the team needs. I learned a lot from that, even in the playoff games,” he said.
Sooryavanshi scored two 90s in his first two IPL playoffs, with both completely different from each other, depending on the situation.
But Sooryavanshi knows, even at 15, that he needs to keep working hard and striving to get better to sustain his unbelievable career.
“Yes, I have to focus on fitness now,” he said. “Because I want to play for a long time, I have to stay away from injuries and all that. I have to work on my fitness and keep focusing ahead. Everyone at RR is very supportive. All the senior players back me, the support staff backs me. I get to learn a lot because all the senior players have played at a very high level. The environment is very good,” he added.
