Welcome To The Jungle released in theatres on June 26 and has managed to hold its ground at the box office with steady audience turnout. The film collected Rs 63.75 crore net across 34,649 shows in its opening weekend. However, producer Firoz Nadiadwala says cinema, for him, has never been only about opening weekend figures or instant success.
In a recent conversation, the producer opened up about the pressure that comes with mounting a big franchise film. He also spoke about his decades-long professional and personal bond with Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal, who headline the film’s ensemble cast.
Firoz Nadiadwala On Welcome To The Jungle Box Office Pressure
Speaking to ANI about the expectations attached to a major franchise film,
Firoz said that while one can never control the final result, the effort must continue at every stage.
“We can guarantee effort, not result. Have you heard that phrase, ‘Till my last breath’? I don’t subscribe to that. From our side, it should be like—’till after my last breath.’ Koshish chalu rehni chahiye,” he said.
Firoz shared that the team continued releasing fresh promotional material and trailers right until the film arrived in cinemas. According to him, the responsibility towards a film does not end with its theatrical release. Even after a movie hits the big screen, he believes every possible effort must be made to help it reach more audiences.
His statement comes as Welcome To The Jungle continues its theatrical journey after a strong opening weekend. The film’s opening numbers reflect the audience interest around the franchise and its large ensemble cast.
Firoz Nadiadwala On His Bond With Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty And Paresh Rawal
Firoz also spoke about his long-standing friendships and working relationships with Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal. The producer said these associations have grown over decades and are built on trust, teamwork and mutual respect.
“Even Akshay ji and Suniel ji are the same. We are a team, and we stand with each other. I have been fortunate and blessed to work with Paresh ji since 1987. It’s almost 40 years now. Akshay ji and my relationship goes back to 1996. Anna—that is Sunil ji—and I have been working together and have been friends since the early 1990s. These are relationships that have developed and matured over decades,” he said.
The film brings together the much-loved Hera Pheri trio of Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal, a reunion that has been one of the major talking points around the project.
Welcome To The Jungle Cast
Welcome To The Jungle features a massive ensemble cast led by Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal. The film also stars Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Jackie Shroff, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Farida Jalal, Johny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Aftab Shivdasani, Mukesh Tiwari, Yashpal Sharma, Kiran Kumar, Zakir Hussain, Vindu Dara Singh, Urvashi Rautela, Hemant Pandey, Brijendra Kala, Feroze Khan, the late Pankaj Dheer, Puneet Issar, Sudesh Berry, Jeetu Verma, Vrihi Kodvara and Bhagya Bhanushali.
With its large-scale comedy setup, franchise recall and star-heavy cast, Welcome To The Jungle continues to draw attention in theatres.
