The Indian Air Force’s 93rd anniversary celebration featured an unexpected dose of humour and a bit of trolling that has since gone viral. A photo of a dinner menu from the IAF’s event, showcasing dishes
named after Pakistani airbases targeted during anti-terror operations, is circulating on social media, and netizens just can’t stop discussing it.
The menu had ‘Rawalpindi’ Chicken Tikka Masala, ‘Rafiqui
‘ Rhara Mutton, ‘Bholari‘ Paneer Methi Malai, ‘Sukkur’ Sham Savera Kofta, ‘Sargodha’ Dal Makhani, ‘Jacobabad’ Mewa Pulao, and ‘Bahawalpur’ Naan in the main course. While the dessert offerings included ‘Balakot‘ Tiramisu, ‘Muzaffarabad’ Kulfi Faluda, and ‘Muridke‘ Meetha Pan.

It is interesting to note that each of the Pakistani airbases mentioned in the menu card holds historical significance for the Indian Air Force. They were among the targets of India’s airstrikes during Operation Bandar in 2019 and Operation Sindoor earlier this year.
BJP Reacts
Reacting to the viral menu card, the Bharatiya Janata Party highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Naya Bharat” and “ghar me ghus ke maarenge” call and stated that now even the menu of the IAF conveys a new normal.
Sharing the picture of the menu from IAF’s event, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala took to X and wrote, “From serving dishes to serving justice. Now, even the Menu of IAF conveys a new normal! Gone are the days when 26/11 took place and no action was allowed as per P Chidambaram by foreign powers. Now it’s a new model. Ghar me ghus kar maaro.”

The BJP leader also took a jibe at the Congress party for preventing India’s military response after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks linked to Pakistan, and accused the party of weakening the fight against terrorism when in power.
