Bengaluru is known for its daily traffic and people often experience unusual moments while stuck on the road. Something similar happened recently when a startup founder discovered that his Uber driver was learning from his own online lessons. On his way to the airport, Kunal Kushwaha, a Senior Developer Advocate at CAST AI and the founder of WeMakeDevs, booked a cab like any other day. But during the ride, the driver told him that he had downloaded all of Kunal’s tutorials on YouTube and was studying them to move into the tech field.
This unexpected moment left him surprised. He even recorded a short clip where the driver can be listening to one of his tutorials. But the founder quickly asked him to pause the video and focus on the road, while
reminding him that watching anything while driving can be risky.
Startup Founder Meets Uber Driver Learning From His Tutorials
The video posted on X came with the caption, “Just Bengaluru things, my Uber driver told me he’s downloaded all my tutorials and is studying those to get into tech. Good people, good vibes. I’ll be back next year.”

Users Praise Driver’s Effort To Learn New Skills
Many users praised the Uber driver’s dedication to learning new things. At the same time, several others tagged the Bengaluru police and demanded strict action, as the driver was captured watching a video while driving, which could have put passengers and others on the road at risk.
Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “Wild how your content finds people exactly when they need it.”
Another jokingly shared, “Didn’t you tell him that AI will replace all software engineers soon?”
“One accident because of such carelessness, his aspirations are over and his present job is gone,” a comment read.
“Why is he watching on duty?” someone also asked.
An individual stated, “He should be fined for this. Drivers’ job is to drive, not hold a phone in one hand while driving. He can do all the talking after the ride.”
Another mentioned, “He’s not the only one. Several Rapido bike drivers I’ve booked have also downloaded your Java playlist and are learning from it.”
One more added, “Drivers are learning tech and tech are thinking of going for driving.”
On his YouTube channel, Kunal Kushwaha often speaks at industry events about cloud, AI and helping developers grow in their careers.
