Chandigarh, Jun 8 (PTI) Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema on Monday directed officials to deliberate upon the issues and demands of employee unions of the education department.
Cheema, after a series of meetings with five different unions, said the meetings aimed at fostering a constructive dialogue and underscored the Bhagwant Mann government’s commitment to addressing the welfare and concerns of its workforce.
Cheema also serves as the chairman of the cabinet sub-committee constituted to resolve employee grievances.
During deliberations, senior officials from the education department apprised Cheema of the current administrative status regarding the unions’ demands, as well as the ongoing actions being taken to address them, according
to an official release.
After thoroughly reviewing the department’s position, Cheema directed the officials to expedite the administrative processes to resolve the unions’ legitimate demands swiftly, ensuring timely relief and support for the employees.
Representatives from each organisation were given a hearing to articulate their primary demands. PTI CHS APL APL
