As promotions for Karuppu gather pace, a small social media exchange has unexpectedly turned into a bigger conversation. This time, it’s not just fans reacting—someone from the industry has also weighed in.
Actor Trisha Krishnan, who stars alongside Suriya in the RJ Balaji directorial, recently hinted online that she may have been sidelined during the film’s promotions. While she didn’t spell things out directly, her responses on X (formerly Twitter) got people talking.
The conversation picked up after a fan joked about forgetting she was part of the film. Trisha reshared the post and wrote, “Thank you. Even I forgot. Good to know they set a reminder now atleast.” That one line was enough to spark speculation.

Trisha Krishnan Takes A Dig At Karuppu Team After Missing Audio Launch
Things escalated when a user criticised her for missing the film’s audio launch. Responding to that, Trisha said, “Guess my invite got lost in the mail :)” The comment quickly went viral and divided opinion online.
Amid the chatter, Aditi Ravindranath, executive producer of Navarasa, appeared to support Trisha. She reshared a post that read, “all this misogyny thrown at her. Whatever their other issues maybe, men are never sidelined from their own projects! it is a disgrace when even a senior actor like Trisha isn’t treated with due respect, if she indeed wasn’t invited to the event & ignored frm promos on purpose.” Trisha reposted it and added, “Exactly!!!”
Not everyone agreed, though. Some users pointed out that Trisha was visible in the film’s promotional posters. Others pushed back, saying, “Posters aren’t invitation!”
Interestingly, Trisha also shared another post defending her track record. It highlighted how she has regularly attended events for her films like Ponniyin Selvan, Leo, Identity, and Thug Life. The post read, “Trisha has never shied from promoting her films. Trisha’s track record of being present at her film’s events speaks for itself.”
Meanwhile, the film itself continues its promotional run. A recent video introducing Trisha’s character Preethi shows her as a lawyer in a courtroom, along with a brief glimpse of her in a song sequence. The clip received positive reactions, especially for her look.
