Kareena Kapoor Opens Up About Karisma’s Struggles

In a throwback clip that is now circulating on Reddit, the actress is seen having a heartfelt

conversation with a contestant. During the interaction, Kareena recalled how Karisma first expressed her desire to become an actress, an idea that was met with resistance, as many believed that daughters from the Kapoor family did not work in films. However, their mother Babita firmly stood by her daughter and said, “Kisne kaha meri beti beton se kam hai.”

Kareena further shared that Babita then called her father, Randhir Kapoor, and informed him about Karisma’s wish to become a heroine. While he was initially surprised, Randhir eventually supported the decision, acknowledging that this would be the first time a Kapoor family daughter would enter films. He added that if Karisma chose this path, she would have to pursue it with complete passion and dedication.

‘Karisma Ne Kaafi Screen Test Bhi Kiya’

Speaking about her sister’s remarkable and tough journey, Kareena shared, “Bohot logo ko yeh pata bhi nahi hai ki Karisma ne kaafi screen test bhi kiya, bohot logon ne reject bhi kiya, phir dad ne saath bhi nahi dia.” She further added that when Randhir Kapoor saw Karisma shine on the big screen for the very first time, he was moved to tears. Overcome with emotion, he hugged Karisma and told her, “You are not my daughter, you are my son.”

Concluding on a powerful note, Kareena called Karisma an ‘eternal diva of Bollywood’, saying that it was she who paved the way and showed the world that Kapoor family daughters could shine on the big screen.
