Kochi, May 28 (PTI) A 26-year-old man from Delhi, who had come to Kerala for an advertisement shoot, drowned in a quarry pool near Perumbavoor on Thursday, police said.
The incident occurred around 2 pm when the man, said to be a model, entered the unused water-filled quarry in a village under the Kodanadu police station limits to shoot videos, ignoring warning boards displayed at the site, they said.
Police said he was part of a team that had arrived in Kerala for the advertisement shoot. The incident occurred when they were exploring the possibility of shooting an advertisement there.
Those accompanying him were unable to rescue him as he drowned in the large pool.
Local residents were also reluctant to enter the water as the quarry pool is considered
dangerous.
Fire and rescue services personnel were later called in and recovered the body.
