Local and luxury trains might run on the same track but inside it’s a whole different world. Local trains are synonymous with everyday hustle, featuring packed coaches, standing passengers and quick stops, echoing a noisy and chaotic routine. On the contrary, luxury trains focus on delivering a smoother experience through spacious private cabins, fine dining, attentive service, and long stretches where the view outside becomes part of a slow, scenic holiday.
Recently, a passenger captured the striking difference between both modes of commute on Instagram. The man recorded the clip from India’s iconic luxury heritage train known as the Palace On Wheels. It is operated jointly by Indian Railways (IRCTC) and the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation
(RTDC).
In the video, the man captured a moving local train from the window before panning the camera to showcase the interiors of his luxury train. It featured furnished beds, warm lighting and neatly designed wooden panels, giving an impression of a vintage and homely charm.
Patterned carpets, a small seating nook and soft upholstery added to the cosy ambience. It screamed royalty from every corner. Comparing the local and luxury trains, the man said, “Yeh hai aam zindagi, aur yeh hai khaas zindagi (This is ordinary life, and this is special life).”
Internet Shares Opinion On Local Vs Luxury Train Comparison
“Pure month ki kamaiii laga diii (Spent a whole month of income),” noted a user. “Bhai, TTE (Travelling Ticket Examiner) ne pair daba diya (Brother, did the tt massage your legs?)” asked another jokingly.
“Local vs the luxury train (all have the) same view,” pointed out an individual. “Ye khas wali train platform pe drop karti hey kta. (Does this train drop you at a special platform?)” read a sarcastic remark.
“Wo Hai 300 Wala. Ye Hai 30000 Wala (The local train is for Rs 300 and this is for Rs 30000),” commented one person, referring to the striking price difference.
