Jaipur, May 6 (PTI) Two minor girls drowned in a water tank in the Shipra Path police station area here, police said on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in the Jagannathpuri area on late Tuesday evening, when the girls, Radhika (5) and Gosia (5), fell into the tank at an under-construction house near their rented residence, they said.
Station House Officer, Shipra Path, Mahendra Yadav said that the girls had stepped out to play in the evening. When they did not return home, their family members began searching for them in the vicinity.
During the search, the children’s slippers were found near the tank at the construction site and family members saw the bodies floating in the water, he said.
The girls were rushed to a government hospital where doctors
declared them brought dead. The bodies have been kept in the mortuary for postmortem, he said. PTI SDA MDO DV DV
