A playful moment on stage at the 70th Filmfare Awards in Ahmedabad saw Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan poke fun at co-host and filmmaker Karan Johar. SRK humorously referenced Karan’s notable weight loss, making a light jab about the popular weight loss drug Ozempic, to which Johar responded with a clever retort.
During their banter, Shah Rukh commented, “Bahaut alag lag rahe ho,” prompting Karan to reply, “Zyada exercise karne laga hoon aajkal.” SRK then asked, “Oh, you’re working out, are you planning to go for Ozempic?” before quickly correcting himself, “Ahh Olympics,” leaving KJo momentarily speechless.
Not one to miss a beat, Karan fired back with, “Haan, Wankhede mein hai Olympics. Aaoge?” referencing the media attention around Sameer
Wankhede, the former NCB officer, in a subtle and humorous twist.
Karan Johar has consistently addressed rumours linking his transformation to medication, emphasising that his fitness journey is a result of disciplined lifestyle choices. He has stated, “That’s a lot of work, and it’s not medication like the rumour suggests,” adding that he focuses on being “healthy, eating well, and exercising.”
Both Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar returned to the Filmfare stage this year as co-hosts, celebrating the 70th edition of the prestigious awards.
Reflecting on the evening, Shah Rukh said, “From the first time I held the Black Lady in my hands, to sharing countless memories with my colleagues and fans over the years; it’s been a journey of love, cinema, and magic. To return as a co-host for the 70th year is truly special, and I promise we’ll make it a night to remember, full of laughter, nostalgia and celebration of the movies we all love.”
Karan Johar added, “Filmfare is not just an award, it’s a legacy that has shaped the very narrative of Indian cinema and continues to live across generations. From the year 2000, I have attended almost every Filmfare Awards and hosted many as well. As we celebrate 70 glorious years, I am truly delighted to co-host what promises to be one of the most memorable nights ever.”
