Speaking to ANI, Twisha’s cousin Ashish Sharma said the family had initially wanted to conduct the final rites in Delhi but later decided against it due to practical and medical concerns.
“We wanted to perform the last rites in Delhi, but I think it’s probably impractical in this heat to travel so far. Due to medical reasons, it’s been decided to perform her last rites in Bhopal,” he said.
Previously, one of the family members alleged that there were significant shortcomings in the first post-mortem examination and expressed confidence that the fresh medical review would address unanswered questions.
“There were a lot of shortcomings in the first post-mortem, and we have a lot of hope with the second one that will bring clarity on the things that were not there in the first one. The judiciary coming into action is a positive sign. Now that the Supreme Court has taken suo motu cognisance, something will definitely be done,” the relative said.
The case has drawn widespread attention after the Supreme Court reportedly took suo motu cognisance of the matter, while the High Court’s intervention led to the decision for a second autopsy under the supervision of senior AIIMS doctors.
