The makers of the Malayalam action entertainer Chatha Pacha have officially locked its theatrical release date. A newly unveiled poster has confirmed that the film will arrive in cinemas on January 22,
2026, while also sparking fresh discussion around a possible connection with Mammootty.
The release date announcement was made through a striking poster shared on social media. Designed to reflect the film’s high-energy tone, the visual places viewers inside a wrestling ring filled with roaring crowds, flying currency notes and a wrestler captured mid-air, setting the stage for a loud and gritty action drama.

What has drawn particular attention is a small but deliberate detail in the poster. The phrase “IN CINE‘M’AS” appears stylised, with the letter “M” highlighted. This design choice has once again triggered speculation about Mammootty’s alleged involvement in the project, a theory that has followed the film since it was first announced.
So far, the team behind Chatha Pacha has not made any official comment confirming or denying Mammootty’s association. However, the visual cue has been widely seen as a calculated tease, keeping curiosity alive without offering clarity.
Set against the backdrop of Kerala’s wrestling culture, the film takes inspiration from the raw and vibrant world of Fort Kochi. It features an ensemble cast led by Arjun Ashokan, Roshan Mathew and Vishak Nair, along with several other prominent actors in key roles.
Chatha Pacha marks the directorial debut of Adhvaith Nayar and is produced by Ritesh and Ramesh S. Ramakrishnan, along with Shoukath Ali. The film also brings together notable names on the technical front, with Shankar Ehsaan Loy composing music for a Malayalam film for the first time, while Mujeeb Majeed handles the background score.
The film will see a wide release across India and overseas. Wayfarer Films will distribute it in Kerala, PVR INOX Pictures will handle Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, Mythri Movie Makers will oversee Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and Dharma Productions will manage the North India release. International distribution across nearly 100 countries will be handled by The Plot Pictures.
