New Delhi, Apr 2 (PTI) The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has tied up with INTACH to undertake a comprehensive survey of historic structures across the Delhi Ridge.
Spread over 8,000 acres, the Delhi Ridge is divided into four zones –Northern Ridge, Southern Ridge, Central Ridge and South Central Ridge area.
“An MoU was signed today between DDA and INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage) to undertake comprehensive documentation of historic structures across the Delhi Ridge,” a DDA official said.
The initiative will include listing and classification, development of heritage trails, installation of signages and the like aimed at preserving and promoting Delhi’s rich heritage, he added.
In the past, some heritage structures
have been identified in parts of Northern Ridge near the North Campus of the University of Delhi. The survey is supposed to uncover more such structures in other parts of the ridge area. PTI SSM KSS KSS
