Looks like love stories from the Vampire Diaries universe aren’t just staying on screen anymore. One beloved face from the series has just stepped into a brand new chapter and fans are here for it.
Actor Candice King, widely known for her role in The Vampire Diaries, has tied the knot with The Originals actor Steven Krueger. The couple exchanged vows on February 28, 2026, in a quiet and intimate ceremony held in Nashville. They later shared glimpses from the wedding on social media, offering fans a look into their special day.
The ceremony took place at The Chapel at High Point Farm and followed Catholic traditions. It was a small gathering with only about 15 guests in attendance, including King’s two daughters and Krueger’s nieces. The wedding
was described as an “elopement-style” celebration, held ahead of the couple welcoming their first child together.

Photos from the ceremony show Candice King dressed in a white gown, visibly embracing her pregnancy. The couple has revealed that they are expecting a baby boy in May 2026. In one of the moments captured, King’s daughters were seen as her bridesmaids, while another image featured the couple sharing a kiss after the ceremony. Krueger opted for a classic black suit for the occasion.
Candice King was previously married to musician Joe King from 2014 until their separation in 2022. During their marriage, they welcomed two daughters, born in 2016 and 2020. Following their divorce, King later began a relationship with Krueger.
Interestingly, despite both being part of The Vampire Diaries franchise, the two actors did not interact during filming. They reportedly met for the first time at a reunion gathering, where their friendship began and eventually developed into a relationship.
Their bond strengthened over time, and during their relationship, King became pregnant with Krueger’s child. The couple then decided to formalise their relationship with marriage ahead of their baby’s arrival.
On the work front, Candice King was last seen in the television series We Were Liars. Steven Krueger, meanwhile, is preparing to step into direction with a short film titled Leaving The Light, although an official announcement is awaited.
