An Instamart user in Bengaluru tipped delivery partners an astonishing Rs 68,600 this year, the highest amount paid by any user in the country, according to the platform’s annual order analysis “How India
Instamarted 2025,” revealed on Monday.
This figure is particularly notable in a year characterised by rapid growth in quick-commerce spending and evolving consumer habits. Instamart pointed out that this generosity was not confined to Bengaluru alone—Chennai users collectively tipped Rs 59,505, closely following behind.
The data also revealed intriguing trends in consumer behaviour and spending. One instance involved a single-cart iPhone purchase worth Rs 4.3 lakh, while another Chennai user spent over Rs 1 lakh on condoms.
On Valentine’s Day, Indian customers ordered nearly 666 roses per minute, highlighting the day’s popularity. A significant spike in gold orders was observed on Dhanteras, with a remarkable 400% growth compared to the previous year.
Additionally, a customer in Chennai spent Rs 2.41 lakh on pet supplies, indicating a growing trend in online shopping for pets in India.
