New Delhi, Nov 4 (PTI) FMCG firm Jyothy Labs Ltd on Wednesday reported an 88 per cent decline in net profit to Rs 10.6 crore in the September quarter of 2026-27, dragged down by higher input costs and continued pressure on consumer affordability.
The company, which owns brands such as Ujala, Pril, Margo and Exo, had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 87.76 crore in the July-September quarter a year ago, according to a regulatory filing.
“Operating EBITDA was at Rs 19.2 crore, with an EBITDA margin of 2.5 per cent, reflecting significant input cost inflation,” the company said in its earnings statement.
Jyothy Labs’ revenue from operations was up 3.25 per cent to Rs 760.04 crore in the September quarter.
Total expenses of Jyothy Labs were at
Rs 759.29 crore, up 19.7 per cent in the second quarter of FY27. Total revenue, including other revenue, rose 3 per cent to Rs 775.67 crore in the September quarter.
In the first half (H1) of FY27, Jyothy Labs’s total income was at Rs 1,566.72 crore, up 2.82 per cent.
“The broader FMCG operating environment remained challenging, with uneven demand recovery and unprecedented inflation in crude derivatives, palm oil, chemicals and packaging materials,” the company said.
While rural consumption continued to outperform urban markets, signs of gradual urban recovery were encouraging.
“However, rising input costs and continued pressure on consumer affordability weighed on industry profitability. Despite healthy underlying growth, the company’s profitability was significantly impacted by elevated commodity costs and the consumption of higher-cost inventories,” it said.
Management remains focused on progressively restoring margins through calibrated pricing, procurement efficiencies, value engineering, improved product mix and cost discipline, while protecting consumer demand and brand competitiveness, it said.
Shares of Jyothy Labs Ltd settled at Rs 189 per share on BSE, up 0.32 per cent. PTI KRH . KRH MR
