New Delhi, Sep 3 (PTI) Light rain was recorded in parts of Delhi on Thursday, while the national capital recorded a maximum temperature of 34.9 degrees Celsius, 0.8 notches above the season average.
In the 24 hours till 8.30 am, Ayanagar recorded the highest rainfall of 3.9 mm, followed by Palam at 3.1 mm and Lodhi Road at 0.8 mm. Safdarjung and the Ridge recorded no rainfall during the period.
Rainfall recorded between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm was nil at Safdarjung, Lodhi Road, the Ridge and Ayanagar, while Palam recorded a trace.
The minimum temperature in Safdarjung was 27 degrees Celsius, 1.4 notches above normal.
Among other weather stations, Palam recorded a maximum of 32.4 degrees Celsius, 1.7 notches below normal, and a minimum of 24.2 degrees Celsius, 1.2
notches below normal.
Lodhi Road recorded a maximum of 33.8 degrees Celsius, 0.8 notches above normal, and a minimum of 26.4 degrees Celsius, 1.4 notches above normal.
The Ridge recorded a maximum of 33.7 degrees Celsius, 0.2 notches above normal, and a minimum of 22.8 degrees Celsius, 1.4 notches below normal.
Ayanagar recorded a maximum of 33.2 degrees Celsius, 0.5 notches below normal, and a minimum of 26.2 degrees Celsius, 1.5 notches above normal.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a generally cloudy sky with moderate rain on Friday and Saturday, with a yellow alert in place.
The air quality was recorded in the “satisfactory” category at 4 pm on Thursday, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) reading of 74, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data showed.
