Lucknow, Jul 3 (PTI) Eleven impersonators and one candidate using unfair means were caught on Friday as the second day of the three-day Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET)-2026 concluded across the state, an official said.
According to an official statement, the examination was conducted in two shifts at 955 centres across 60 districts in a peaceful and cheating-free manner. The first shift was held for the upper primary level and the second for the primary level.
Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission Chairman Prashant Kumar said all examination centres were monitored through an AI-integrated control and command centre and AI-enabled cameras.
During the first shift, nine impersonators appearing in place of registered candidates
and one candidate who allegedly concealed a mobile phone inside his shoe were caught. In the second shift, two more impersonators were apprehended. All were handed over to the local police for legal action.
Kumar said 8,07,709 candidates were registered for Friday’s two shifts, of whom 7,51,321, or 93.01 per cent, appeared for the examination. Attendance stood at 92.70 per cent among women and 93.36 per cent among men.
The three-day UPTET-2026 examination is being conducted in five shifts from July 2 to 4 at 955 centres across 60 districts. The final shift will be held on Saturday under AI-based monitoring and enhanced security arrangements, he added. PTI CDN APL APL
