Punjabi actress Tania’s stepfather, a doctor, was reportedly shot at by two men at his clinic in Kot Ise Khan, Moga district, Punjab, in July this year. He is currently hospitalised and is said to be in stable
condition. Now, the actress has opened up about the harrowing three months following the attack on her father, Dr. Anil Jit Singh Kamboj. The incident left the family grappling with a challenging and emotional period, which Tania detailed in a heartfelt social media post.
In her post, the Lekh actress shared, “This is what my last 3 months have looked like. From July 4th till today…Life has taken me through corridors I never imagined walking—ICUs, OTs, endless waiting rooms.”
She described the emotional duality of her days, “On some mornings, I was under studio lights, smiling for the camera… and by night, I was in the ICU, holding back tears by my father’s bedside. Somewhere in between, my life changed. I have zero idea how life changed from vanities to ventilators. How I no more talked about scripts, lipstick shades and cameras. But it was all about tracheostomy, gut bleeds, TLC counts and blood units. But now I value life more than anything.”

Tania reflected on the transformative nature of the ordeal, expressing gratitude despite the hardships. “And yet—I am grateful. Grateful to God who if entrusted me with this battle, also blessed me with the strength and support to face it. I value the artist in me more too. Because while the world often sees actors only as entertainers, for us this craft is also our livelihood. The smiles you see on screen may sometimes be hiding the deepest battles behind it.”
Concluding her note, Tania emphasised the ongoing nature of the journey and thanked those who supported her family, “The journey is still not over yet. But yeah. Once in the middle of an ordinary life—an extraordinary experience happens. Thank you to everyone who has been there for me and my family through this tough time… Your kindness is etched in my heart forever. Wishing good health, love and positivity for everyone… may this festive season bring light to everyone’s life.”
Moga district police chief, senior superintendent of police (SSP) Ajay Gandhi, had said at the time that the bullets hit him on the chest and in the arm. “He remains hospitalised and doctors attending to him termed his condition as stable. We are working to ascertain the cause behind the crime,” said the SSP.
Investigators stated that following the attack, the assailants fled the scene on a motorcycle. The probe also revealed that they had been seen loitering around the clinic prior to the incident. “We’re investigating all possible angles, including extortion threats.” the SSP was further quoted as saying.
One of the Stories on Tania’s official Instagram handle had read, “… this is an extremely critical and emotional time for her and her family. We kindly request the media to respect their privacy… and refrain from speculation or creating stories around the situation.”
