Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! Fun On The Run: Rohitashv Gour On Road Trip Twist, New Villains And Why Manmohan Tiwari Still Feels Fresh
As Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain! Fun On The Run gears up to stream on ZEE5 on April 3, actor Rohitashv Gour, who has long been synonymous with Manmohan Tiwari, opens up to News18 Showsha about what makes this new chapter different, and why the character continues to feel as alive as ever.
A Road Trip, Real Locations And New Villains
This time, the beloved sitcom steps out of its familiar setting and embraces a road-trip narrative, complete with real locations and a fresh set of antagonists. “Yes, this time the story is set around a road trip, and we have shot at real locations, which adds a different flavour. There are also
some very interesting villains played by actors like Ravi Kishan, Brijendra Kala, and others. But the comic timing still comes from the characters and the situations—it depends on how real those situations feel. So while the setup is different, the essence of the comedy remains the same.”
Despite the change in backdrop and the addition of villains, Gour emphasises that the core of the show remains intact, rooted in situational humour and character-driven comedy.
‘Manmohan Tiwari Has Become A Part Of My Personality’
Having played Manmohan Tiwari for years, Gour admits that the character now comes to him instinctively, almost like second nature.
“After so many years, Manmohan Tiwari has become a part of my personality. Now the character comes very naturally to me; I do not have to force anything. It is like driving a car that is completely under your control. You know when to brake, when to turn—everything is in your hands. So yes, it all feels effortless now.”
The comparison perfectly captures the ease with which he slips into the role, a familiarity built over years of inhabiting the character.
Why The Character Still Feels Fresh
Even after such a long run, Gour says he has never felt the need to step away from the role, largely because of the nature of comedy itself.
“I have never felt bored playing this character, and the biggest reason is that it is a comedy. In comedy, the story keeps changing every few episodes. We keep getting into new situations and conflicts, and that keeps things fresh. If it were a typical story going on the same way for years, then maybe it would feel tiring. But here, there is always something new happening, so there is no question of getting bored.”
With constantly evolving scenarios and conflicts, the show continues to reinvent itself, ensuring that both the actor and the audience remain engaged.
