Sara Arjun is clearly on cloud nine. The 20-year-old actor, who debuted as a leading lady in Aditya Dhar’s espionage thriller Dhurandhar, has been overwhelmed by the film’s massive box office success,
which has crossed Rs 759 crore net so far. Known for her work as a child actor in films like Jazbaa, Ek Thi Daayan, and the Ponniyin Selvan franchise, Sara has now shared her heartfelt gratitude with fans for their support.
Taking to Instagram, Sara addressed her fans as “my strongest Dhurandhars,” reflecting on how their enthusiasm challenged a common belief in the industry: that modern audiences no longer have the patience for long-form storytelling.
Sara Arjun pens heartfelt note
She wrote, “For a long time, there has been a narrative that audiences no longer have the patience for long-form storytelling, that attention spans have shortened, that cinema no longer finds its place. But you proved otherwise.” She added, “You reminded everyone of the true strength of an audience and what happens when people come together to support something they genuinely believe in.”
Highlighting the role of viewers in the film’s success, Sara credited the journey of Dhurandhar entirely to audience support. “The journey of Dhurandhar has been what it is because of you. Every bit of love, every moment you showed up, carried this film forward and I cannot thank you enough,” she said. She also noted the unpredictability of audience reactions as one of the most rewarding aspects of filmmaking: “As artists and makers, we can control every part of the process, but we have no control over the audience and that’s beautiful.”

Sara expressed that the encouragement she has received has left a profound impact on her personally and professionally. “None of your love has gone unnoticed or unfelt. The warmth, encouragement, and kindness that have come my way have left me overwhelmed with gratitude,” she wrote. “I bow my head in front of God, and in front of you, with a sincere thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Looking ahead, Sara framed Dhurandhar as just the beginning of her journey as a leading actor. “I am only just beginning, and to receive this kind of encouragement so early for a film I am a part of and for the work I’m trying to do means more to me than I can put into words. It strengthens me,” she said, adding, “At the end of the day, acting is a performative art. We do what we do so that someone out there feels something real.”
Signing off with gratitude on behalf of the entire team, Sara wrote, “I’m the youngest on the team, but I’m taking the liberty of thanking you on behalf of all of us. Forever grateful.”
