Jemimah Rodrigues-led Delhi Capitals are fourth in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 points table. They have managed to win three and lose four out of seven matches played so far in the ongoing season. In their seventh league match of WPL 2026, Delhi Capitals faced Gujarat Giants at BCA Stadium in Vadodara on Tuesday, January 27, but suffered a close defeat by 3 runs.
They failed to score nine runs in the 20th over of the run chase, which was bowled by Sophie Devine.
The defeat against Gujarat Giants dropped Delhi Capitals to fourth position in the WPL 2026 points table, and their chances of qualifying for the WPL 2026 knockouts are in serious doubt now.
WPL 2026 points table after Delhi Capitals-Gujarat Giants match on January 27, 2026
| POSITION | TEAM | MATCHES | WINS | LOSSES | NO RESULT | POINTS | NET RUN RATE |
| 1. | Royal Challengers Bengaluru (Q) | 7 | 5 | 2 | 0 | 10 | +0.947 |
| 2. | Gujarat Giants | 7 | 4 | 3 | 0 | 8 | -0.271 |
| 3. | Mumbai Indians | 7 | 3 | 4 | 0 | 6 | +0.146 |

| 5. | UP Warriorz | 6 | 2 | 4 | 0 | 4 | -0.769 |
For
Delhi Capitals to qualify for the WPL 2026 knockouts by finishing in the top three, they have to make sure they secure a big win over UP Warriorz in their last league match of WPL 2026, which is scheduled to take place in Vadodara on Sunday, February 1, and also hope that Gujarat Giants defeat Mumbai Indians on Friday (January 30).
If that happens, then Delhi Capitals will finish third in the points table with 8 points, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Giants will take the top two positions.
But if Gujarat Giants lose their last league match against Mumbai Indians and UP Warriorz defeat Delhi Capitals, then Delhi Capitals will get knocked out.
If Mumbai Indians defeat Gujarat Giants on Friday and then Delhi Capitals defeat UP Warriorz on Sunday, then MI, GG and DC will finish the league stage with the same number of points (8 each), and in that case, the team with the better Net Run Rate (NRR) will finish 2nd and 3rd in the points table.
According to WPL rules, the table-toppers qualify directly for the final, whereas the 2nd and 3rd placed teams face each other in the eliminator match, and the winner of that contest then takes on the table topper in the final.
In the last three editions of WPL, Delhi Capitals finished as table toppers every time under Meg Lanning’s leadership but never managed to win the top prize.
