Who Is Ashiss Kumar Dash? Meet Infosys' CEO-Designate Set To Succeed Salil Parekh In April 2027

Infosys, India’s second-largest IT services company, has named company veteran Ashiss Kumar Dash as its CEO-designate. He will take over as managing director and chief executive officer from April 1, 2027, after current CEO Salil Parekh completes his second term.

The announcement came along with Infosys’ Q1 FY27 results and marks the company’s plan for a smooth leadership transition over the coming months.

A Three-Decade Infosys Veteran

Ashiss Kumar Dash is not a new face at Infosys. He has spent more than 30 years with the company, holding several leadership positions across business operations, technology delivery and customer-facing roles.

Currently, he heads a large global business portfolio covering multiple industry verticals. He also leads the company’s sustainability

business and has worked across several international markets during his career.

According to Infosys, Dash has consistently delivered strong business performance, helped clients manage complex technology transformations and built high-performing global teams.

Why Did Infosys Choose Him?

Infosys Chairman Nandan Nilekani said the technology industry is entering a period of major change driven by artificial intelligence (AI), and the company wanted a leader who could balance transformation with the values that Infosys is known for.

“The Board was clear that our next CEO needed to combine the ability to drive bold transformation with the judgment to preserve the values and customer trust that have always distinguished Infosys. It gives me great pleasure that we have an internal leader as our next CEO,” Nilekani said.

The company believes Dash’s mix of business strategy, commercial understanding and technology delivery experience makes him well suited to lead Infosys through its next phase of AI-led growth.

Educational Background

Dash graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur. He has also completed the Global Leadership Program at Stanford University and the Senior Executive Program at London Business School, adding global management training to his engineering background.

What Will Be His Biggest Challenge?

Dash will take charge at a time when AI is rapidly changing the global technology services industry. Companies are investing heavily in generative AI, automation and digital transformation, while clients are demanding faster innovation and greater efficiency.

His immediate task will be to build on the AI strategy developed under Salil Parekh while maintaining Infosys’ growth, strengthening client relationships and expanding the company’s capabilities in emerging technologies.

Smooth Leadership Transition Planned

Salil Parekh will continue as Infosys CEO until March 31, 2027, and will work closely with Dash to ensure a seamless transition. Parekh expressed confidence in his successor, saying he has seen Dash’s integrity, customer focus and leadership abilities first-hand over many years.

With the appointment of an experienced internal leader, Infosys is aiming for continuity in leadership as it prepares for the next phase of growth in the AI era.
