PM Modi In New Zealand: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday highlighted India’s economic strength and growing opportunities for global businesses as he addressed industry leaders in Auckland during his visit to New Zealand. The Prime Minister said India is the world’s fastest-growing economy and offers policy stability, political stability and continuity of growth.
PM Modi expressed confidence that bilateral trade between India and New Zealand would double by 2030 and highlighted India’s position as a global leader in fintech. He also said the opening of the space technology sector to private participation had led to the emergence of around 400 start-ups in the country.
Describing India-New Zealand ties as being at a “turning point”, PM Modi
said the two countries were transforming their relationship into a strategic partnership. He said his visit was not merely a diplomatic milestone but a new commitment towards a shared future.
The Prime Minister also said he had come to New Zealand carrying the aspirations and ambitions of 140 crore Indians and praised Prime Minister Christopher Luxon’s deep commitment towards India.
Luxon, meanwhile, described himself as a “great admirer of India” and praised the country’s transformation under PM Modi’s leadership. He said 250 million people had been lifted out of poverty and India’s middle class had grown to 440 million, a figure expected to reach 750 million by the end of the decade.
