The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) hit a new low in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) on Saturday evening, registering their lowest in the history of the tournament. Smriti Mandhana & Co were folded for a paltry 109 in 20 overs by Delhi Capitals, staring at their first defeat this season.
On a slow pitch, RCB collapsed after Smriti Mandhana’s 38, posting their lowest WPL total despite brief resistance from Radha Yadav. Nandini Sharma delivered a spell of control and guile, finishing with 3 for 26, as Delhi Capitals bundled RCB out for 109 – their lowest ever in WPL. Their previous lowest was 125/9 against the Mumbai Indians at the DY Patil Stadium in 2023.
RCB’s 109 all-out is now the joint third-lowest first-innings total in WPL history. They
matched MI’s score of 109/8 against DC in 2023. The lowest total of the tournament history was registered by Delhi Capitals in 2023 – 105 all-out against MI.

Delhi Capitals ended Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s unbeaten run with a commanding seven-wicket win. Chasing 110, DC completed the task with 4.2 overs to spare to move to second on the points table and improve their net run rate. Laura Wolvaardt anchored the chase with an unbeaten 42, while captain Jemimah Rodrigues contributed 24 in a crucial 52-run stand after early losses of Shafali Verma and Lizelle Lee.
The chase began briskly, with Shafali Verma striking three boundaries in the opening over, but momentum dipped as she and Lizelle Lee fell in quick succession to Sayali Satghare. From 24 for 2, captain Jemimah Rodrigues and Laura Wolvaardt rebuilt with composure, adding a crucial 52-run partnership. Rodrigues scored 24, while Wolvaardt anchored the innings with a calm, unbeaten 42, capitalising on RCB’s fielding lapses. Marizanne Kapp then ensured a smooth finish with an unbeaten 19.
