Mumbai, Aug 12 (PTI) Diversified firm Krystal Integrated Services on Wednesday announced acquiring a 100 per cent equity stake in Citelum India from its current shareholders, including Citelum S.A.S., France.
The acquisition marks Krystal’s entry into the city lighting and urban infrastructure segment, supported by increasing investments in energy-efficient public infrastructure and city development initiatives.
Krystal said it is targeting annual revenue of Rs 300-350 crore from the new vertical over the next 3-4 years and plans to invest approximately Rs 100 crore in engineering capabilities, technology platforms and business expansion.
The move is part of the company’s strategy to build an engineering-led infrastructure services business, Krystal
said without disclosing the deal size.
The company plans to scale its operations across 30-40 cities in 12-15 states, with infrastructure services expected to contribute 12-15 per cent of consolidated revenues, it said adding that Citelum India will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Krystal Integrated Services Limited.
The acquisition also strengthens the company’s ability to deliver end-to-end infrastructure services particularly for long-term operations and maintenance projects, it said.
Krystal intends to build on Citelum India’s domain expertise and expand the company’s operations across a wider spectrum of electrical infrastructure services, including connected lighting, smart metering, EV charging infrastructure and other city-focused electrical solutions, it stated.
Krystal Integrated Services Limited took a strategic step toward strengthening its presence in infrastructure-linked services with this acquisition, said Sanjay Dighe, CEO & Whole Time Director, Krystal Integrated Services Ltd.
“Urban infrastructure in India is witnessing growing investment driven by urbanization, increasing focus on energy efficiency and public infrastructure development. As cities increasingly adopt technology-enabled street lighting systems that improve energy efficiency, monitoring and asset management, demand is rising for service providers capable of delivering both installation expertise and long-term operations and maintenance of lighting infrastructure,” he said.
Citelum India operates in this segment, offering services across the design, engineering, installation and maintenance of street lighting and city lighting infrastructure, with extensive experience in delivering connected lighting solutions and managing lighting assets, according to Dighe.
“The acquisition by Krystal Integrated Services Limited marks an important milestone in Citelum India’s growth journey. Krystal’s strong operational platform, extensive customer relationships and expertise in infrastructure-linked services complement our technical capabilities, creating a strong foundation for future growth,” said B Sivakumar, CEO & Director, Citelum India Private Limited.
The acquisition also presents an opportunity to create meaningful employment in an era of rapid technological and AI-led transformation, he said, adding, “As we scale our operations, we see the potential to create over 5,000 skilled and semi-skilled employment opportunities, enabling more people to participate in and benefit from the growth of India’s urban infrastructure ecosystem.” PTI IAS MR
