Kim Soo Hyun To Make Korean Comeback As Presenter After Getting Clean Chit In Kim Sae Ron Scandal

Actor Kim Soo Hyun is all set to make his first official public appearance in South Korea in around a year and a half. Soo-Hyun has been confirmed as a presenter at the upcoming 2026 The Fact Music Awards (TMA).

The awards ceremony, which will be held on September 19 at Busan Asiad Main Stadium, will mark an important step in Kim Soo Hyun’s return to domestic entertainment activities months after he got a clean chit in late actress Kim Sae Ron dating scanda.

Kim Soo Hyun To Attend The Fact Music Awards

The organising committee of the 2026 The Fact Music Awards announced on August 28 that Kim Soo Hyun will attend the ceremony as an award presenter. This will be his first official domestic public engagement since his press conference in March 2025, when he addressed allegations concerning

his relationship with Kim Sae Ron.

However, it shouls also be noted that this appearance does not mark a confirmed acting comeback. Kim Soo Hyun has been announced specifically as a presenter, and there is no update regarding his upcoming movie or show as of now.

Kim Soo Hyun’s First Korean Appearance In 1.5 Years

Kim Soo-Hyun has been cleared of all allegations against him and YouTuber Kim Se-Ui has been accused of spreading false claims against the actor through YouTube broadcasts. Reportedly, the YouTuber alleged that Kim Soo-Hyun was romantically involved with the late actress Kim Sae-Ron when she was still a minor. It has also been alleged that the YouTuber used AI-manipulated recordings of Kim Sae-Ron’s voice during broadcasts to spread fabricated information and damage the actor’s reputation. The YouTuber was recently arrested and further action against him is being taken.

The actor’s team called this a victory of truth and later confirmed that the South Korean star is also ready to take legal action. Previously, the Korean JoongAng Daily confirmed that Kim Soo-hyun’s legal team has confirmed to file a 30 billion won (approximately Rs 192 crore) civil suit against YouTuber Kim Se-eui for damages.

“Kim Se-ui spread false claims that Kim Soo-hyun carried out a long relationship with Kim Sae-ron beginning when she was a minor and that pressure from Kim Soo-hyun’s agency to repay a debt had driven her to death,” Kim Soo-hyun’s legal representative said in an interview with the MBC News.
