Last Minute Checklist
- Confirm your name is in the electoral roll (online via NVSP/ECI portals)
- Keep your EPIC number (Voter ID number) handy
- You can also download digital voter ID (E-EPIC)
Important: If your name is not on the list, you won’t be allowed to vote—even if you have a voter ID.
Carry Valid ID Proof
You must carry at least one valid ID, such as:
- Voter ID (EPIC)
- Aadhaar card
- Passport
- Driving licence
- PAN card
No ID means No voting
Step 3: Know Your Polling Booth
- Check your polling station location in advance
- Reach the correct booth assigned to your constituency
- Only voters of that booth are allowed inside
Step 4: At the Polling Station
What to expect:
- Security check at entry
- Your name will be verified in the voter list
- Finger will be marked with indelible ink
- You will be directed to the voting machine (EVM)
Step 5: How to Vote (EVM Process)
- Press the button next to your chosen candidate on the EVM
- A beep sound confirms your vote
- You’ll see the candidate slip briefly on VVPAT machine
Important Rules (Dos & Don’ts)
Dos:
- Follow polling officials’ instructions
- Maintain discipline and queue order
- Report any issues to officials or helpline
Don’t:
- Carry mobile phones inside the voting compartment
- Campaign or wear political symbols near booth
