Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, and singer Arijit Singh are facing allegations of entering a college in West Bengal late at night without seeking prior permission. Ajoy Adhikari, the principal of Rani Dhanya Kumari Government College in Jiaganj, Murshidabad shared a post alleging that Aamir and Arijit entered the campus without prior permission, and also shared CCTV footage allegedly showing them arriving with several others around 1:05 a.m. The principal later deleted the post but questioned why Aamir Khan and Arijit Singh should be exempt from seeking permission just because they are celebrities.
Principal Shares CCTV Footage Allegedly Showing Aamir Khan And Arijit Singh Arriving
The college principal, Ajoy Adhikari, shared CCTV footage allegedly
showing Aamir Khan and Arijit Singh arriving at the campus around 1:05 am along with a few other people and motorcycles. The footage from February 4, shared by Bengali media outlet Satya Darpan on Facebook, shows them getting off their bikes. According to Ajoy Adhikari’s allegations, the group reportedly played badminton inside the indoor games hall, conducted a shoot, and left around 2.25 am.
Principal’s Now-Deleted Post
In a now-deleted Facebook post, the principal questioned, “My question is: At such a late hour, without informing the college (permission aside), they clearly did not come for social or personal reasons. They came for commercial purposes and used the college premises without authorization, even influencing the local night guard. Just because they are famous, can they do whatever they want? Are government educational institutions to be treated with such disregard?”
The authenticity of the videos has not been independently verified by News18.
Ajoy Adhikari later deleted the videos from his Facebook account, sharing another post claiming that he was forced to do so. In the comments, he wrote in Bengali that he was deeply astonished that, even after the post’s deletion, people continued to dispense unsolicited opinions. He added that no one seems to be judging the matter through the lens of ethics anymore, instead blindly siding with individuals they personally admire.
“Have people completely lost the ability to think and judge from a moral and intellectual standpoint? Except for a handful, most students seem utterly unconcerned about the institution’s dignity and its social and constitutional rights,” he wrote in Bengali. Lastly, he shared that he feels utterly defeated as if he has failed completely.
As of now, neither Arijit Singh nor Aamir Khan has commented on the matter.
