After the resounding success of The Ba***ds of Bollywood, actor Rajat Bedi has become the talk of the town. The series, marking Aryan Khan’s debut as a director, has been receiving widespread attention
for its sharp storytelling and cinematic flair. But for Rajat, working with Aryan wasn’t an entirely new experience—he had collaborated years ago with Aryan’s father, superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
When asked about the similarities between the father-son duo, Rajat was candid in his observation. Speaking to Zoom, the actor said, “One thing I noticed, the similarity between the two is overconfidence. Everything I saw in Shahrukh Sir, I see in his son. His son has this ‘I will be number one’ attitude. He has the same spirit of wanting to be number one in his field, just like his father. Watching that was really nice.”
Rajat added that beyond the attitude, there are several other parallels between Shah Rukh and Aryan, although their intelligence and creative instincts differ.
‘Aryan Is Jovial and Really Funny’
When asked if Aryan’s demeanor is more serious compared to his father’s charm, Rajat clarified that social media often paints a misleading picture. “He can be a little uptight in front of everyone, but Aryan is very jovial. I would say he’s really funny,” he revealed.
The actor further elaborated that Aryan’s humour and spontaneity are what make the show shine. “Because if he wasn’t funny, the show itself wouldn’t have worked. You wouldn’t have been able to make it so entertaining. All those punchlines, the small jokes from Kashif, the bigger ones, Ghafoor, and even my character—the charm and nostalgia, bringing back old film moments, how to present them—that’s all Aryan. That kid has worked really hard.”
